This hill, NebeShueb, is holy to the Druze and believed to be the burial site of Jethro. The Druze broke away from traditional Islam in Egypt, and then moved to Lebanon. There is a large Druze population in Israel, particularly in the north. |

The Mount of Beatitudes is where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount. The sermon is based on the Jewish Ashrei prayer, hence the Hebrew name of the mountain: Har Ha'Osher. As you can see by the nun in the doorway, it's a functioning church, though it caters mostly to tourists.
